Wheel to Sculpture Class- Monday Evening

Come explore wheel and sculpture in this 8 week long course. 6:00pm-9:00pm on Monday nights.

Details

This is an intermediate level class. You must be able to comfortably center clay and throw basic cylinders and bowls in order to register for this class. This is a great class for students with prior wheel experience who want to expand their wheel throwing skills or venture into sculpture for the first time. This class invites experimentation, creativity, and a fresh perspective on clay. In this class, we will step beyond the traditional vessel and into the expressive world of sculpture. We will explore the pottery wheel as a tool not just for functional objects, but for altered forms and imagination. Through guided instruction, you will practice throwing a variety of shapes and thoughtfully alter, combine, and assemble them into cohesive sculptural pieces. Students are required to bring their own basic pottery tool kit. After you are registered for class, you can purchase a tool kit through our website, or you are welcome to purchase your own tool kit elsewhere. Class meets once per week for 8 weeks. All participants must be over the age of 16. All participants must register individually.
