Filipino Vase Carving Workshop
Saturday October 25, 2:00pm-5:00pm

Details
In celebration of Filipino-American History Month, join us for a hands-on pottery carving workshop led by Filipina artist, Ashley Starace. Tradition meets creativity in this 3-hour session. Each participant will receive a medium-sized vase to carve with traditional Filipino motifs and symbols. Ashley will guide you through the cultural history and meanings behind the design, and teach techniques for carving patterns and even incorporating Baybayin - the ancient Filipino script - into your piece. The workshop includes a live demonstration, engaging discussion on Filipino art and heritage, and light refreshments to enjoy as you work. Whether you're new to pottery or an experienced maker, Filipino or not, this is a unique opportunity to create meaningful, personal art honoring Filipino culture.
